Two days Workshop on Pharmacovigilance at Sanskar Educational Group
Pharmacopoeial Education and Patient Safety Cell at Sanskar College of Pharmacy & Research is organizing two days Workshop on Pharmacovigilance in association with Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission on 14th and 15th March, 2024.
Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission established it’s first Pharmacopoeial Education and Patient Safety Cell at Sanskar College of Pharmacy & Research on 13th March, 2020. Many activities are being conducted by the cell to make aware the students about the importance of Indian Pharmacopoeia in ensuring safety and efficacy of drugs for patients.
Today, workshop was started with lightening of lamp by the Chief Guest, Dr. Jai Prakash, Senior Principal Scientific officer, Officer Incharge – Pharmacovigilance Programme of India and Guest of Honour, Dr. Anil Kumar Teotia, Senior Principal Scientific officer from Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Director, Prof. Dr. Babita Kumar, HODs, Dr. Shabnam Ain and Dr. Anuradha Singh.
During the workshop, Prof. Dr. Babita Kumar welcomed all the dignitaries in the workshop and conveyed her good wishes for the success of the two days workshop.
Chief Guest, Dr. Jai Prakash, Senior Principal Scientific officer, Officer Incharge – Pharmacovigilance Programme of India, Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission who is dynamic researcher and advisor in the field of Pharmacopoeia, Pharmacovigilance and Formulary sciences emphasized on the basic terminology and concepts of Pharmacovigilance. He also delivered about the current status of the Pharmacovigilance program of India, thus enriching the knowledge of students. Pharmacovigilance is one of the growing fields which the students can opt for after completing their Master programme in Pharmacy. Pharmacovigilance involves monitoring, assessing and preventing the adverse effects of pharmaceutical products.
Dr. Anil Kumar Teotia described the Good Laboratory Practices and development of monographs in Indian Pharmacopoeia. He shared that Good Laboratory Practices include a set of principles that provides a framework within which non-clinical laboratory studies are planned, performed, monitored, reported and archived. GLP is a Quality System which are applied to all laboratory processes to ensure quality, integrity and reliability of safety data and achieve high quality in drug product
The students of B.Pharm third year and final year participated in the workshop with zeal and enthusiasm. Chairman-SEG, Shri Manoj Kumar Gupta, Mr. Lav Aggarwal and Mr. Kush Aggarwal conveyed their good wishes to all the faculty members and students for the success of the workshop. The event was very well organized by Dr. Qurratul Ain, Ms Akshoo Rathi and Mr. Arjun Nagar.
