DESCRIPTION:Eminent speaker\, Dr. Shibli Jameel Ahmad\, Professor in the Department of Pharmacology\, Faculty of Pharmacy\, Jamia Hamdard- New Delhi\, delivered a guest lecture on General Principles of Chemotherapy on 20th February 2023 at Sanskar College of Pharmacy and Research\, Ghaziabad. He shared about various terminologies and basic concepts of chemotherapy and chemotherapeutic drug. He elaborated more on cytotoxic chemotherapy which refers to agents whose mechanisms of action cause cell death or prevents cell growth\, generally through inhibiting microtubule function\, protein function\, or DNA synthesis. Goals of chemotherapy for cancer are to cure\, control or relieve suffering has been discussed in detail. The lecture was very well received by the B.Pharm students. The information and practical insight in his deliberation will be useful for the students throughout their career.
