SUMMARY:Industrial visit to Yakult Danone
DESCRIPTION:Sanskar College of Pharmacy and Research\, Ghaziabad organized an Industrial visit to Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd. Sonipat\, Haryana on 12th November\, 2024 for B.Pharm II year students. Yakult Danone is a globally renowned company specializing in the production of probiotic beverages and known for its product\, “Yakult”. The company operates with a strong emphasis on health benefits and quality. This industrial visit aimed to give students practical insights into the manufacturing processes of nutraceutical products particularly the probiotic drink Yakult and to educate them about quality control\, regulatory compliance and the role of probiotics in health. The visit began with an orientation session where the students were introduced to the history of Yakult\, importance of probiotics and role of the company in promoting a healthy lifestyle. The visit provided a detailed view of the entire production cycle for Yakult from fermentation to packaging\, helping students relate theoretical knowledge to practical applications. Exposure to GMP and environmental safety practices highlighted the importance of regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical industry. The visit was a valuable educational experience for the pharmacy students. This experience not only enriched the students’ understanding of manufacturing and quality standards but also inspired them to consider future careers in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries. There were 45 Students and faculty member (Ms.Bhawna Bisht) who became a part of the Industrial Trip. The visit was arranged by Ms. Rinki Tyagi (Training & Placement Cell Incharge) and very well co-ordinated by Dr. Qurratul Ain (Industrial Trip Co-ordinator) with a great support of Director- Prof. (Dr.) Babita Kumar. We extend our gratitude to the management and staff of Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd. for their warm hospitality and informative session.

SUMMARY:Celebrating 63rd National Pharmacy Week (NPW)
DESCRIPTION:Sanskar College of Pharmacy\, Ghaziabad is celebrating 63rd National Pharmacy Week (NPW) from 17th to 23rd November\, 2024 to acknowledge the valuable contribution of our pharmacists in healthcare delivery of our country. The theme selected for this year is: “Think Health\, Think Pharmacy”. The different events like Guest Lectures\, Oral Presentation\, Pharma-Extempore Competition\, Pharma Quiz and Essay writing Competition are being organized on this occasion. The event was inaugurated with traditional auspicious lamp lightening ceremony as a tribute to MAA Saraswati by Eminent cardiologist\, Dr. Parag Sharma\, Director\, Aarogya Medical and Diagnostic centre\, Hapur\, Director Prof. (Dr.) Babita Kumar\, HOD-Pharmacy\, Dr. Shabnam Ain\, Dr. Anuradha Singh\, Dr. Qurratul Ain\, Dr. Ajeet and Administrative officer\, Mr. Ashish Mittal.\nDr. Parag Sharma delivered lecture on anatomy\, physiology and pathophysiology of cardiovascular diseases such as Arrhythmia\, Angina\, Cardiac arrest\, Heart attack\, Heart failure and valve diseases. He also discussed about symptoms of heart attack and first aid which should be given. Students came to know the different terminologies like heart attack\, heart failure\, cardiac arrhythmia and pulmonary edema. Heart failure is the condition when heart is unable to fulfill the demand of the body and first aid given in that situation is Lesix is a diuretic and considered as first aid to prevent the condition of heart failure. Arrhythmia is irregular rhythm of the heart which can be bradycardia and tachycardia. Pulmonary edema is a situation when atrium is unable to pump blood to ventricles and it will lead to increase load at the lungs. Dr. Parag Sharma told that uplifting of legs will cause cardiac pooling and make the person conscious\, if the person faints. The lecture was very well received by the D. Pharm. B.Pharm and M.Pharm students. The information and practical insight in his deliberation will be useful for the students throughout their career. On 18th & 19th November Extempore and Pharma Quiz Competitons were conducted and the students had actively participated in the events with great zeal and enthusiasm. In extempore competition first\, second Position was hold by Mehfooz (B.Pharm I yr) & Cutee (B.Pharm II yr) and third position was hold by two students (Devashish\, B.Pharm III yr & Muskan D.Pharm-II yr). Team Chemical crew – Shivam (B.Pharm IV yr)\, Aditya Raj (B.Pharm III yr)\, Cutee (B.Pharm II yr)\, Mehfooz (B.Pharm I yr) and Tuba (D.Pharm II yr) was the winner of Quiz Competition. And the team Molecular marvels – Tushar (B.Pharm IV yr)\, Varun (B.Pharm III yr)\, Himani (B.Pharm II yr)\, Manpreet (B.Pharm I yr) and Alisha (D.Pharm) was the runner. On this occasion\, Director- SCPR\, Dr. Babita Kumar motivated all the faculty/event co-ordinators and appreciated all the winners & participants for their extraordinary performance.

They learned about its primary causes\, including smoking\, air pollution\, and occupational hazards\, as well as its symptoms\, such as breathlessness\, chronic cough\, and fatigue. The day emphasized the importance of early diagnosis\, preventive measures\, and adopting healthy lifestyle choices to manage and reduce the risk of COPD. Through interactive sessions and awareness campaigns\, students also discovered the significance of creating smoke-free environments and advocating for cleaner air to combat respiratory illnesses. Additionally\, they were encouraged to support those living with COPD by fostering empathy and understanding\, contributing to a healthier\, more inclusive society.The Event is well coordinated by Mr.Lucky Arya.

On World Pancreatic Cancer Day\, students have learned about the significance of raising awareness for pancreatic cancer\, a disease that often goes undiagnosed until it is in advanced stages. They discovered key facts about the pancreas\, its role in the body\, and how pancreatic cancer develops. Students gained a deeper understanding of the risk factors\, including smoking\, family history\, and certain medical conditions\, as well as the symptoms\, which can be difficult to detect early. They also learned about the challenges faced by those diagnosed with the disease\, including the limited treatment options and the need for increased research. The event was inaugurated with traditional auspicious lamp lightening ceremony as a tribute to MAA Saraswati by Chief Guest\, Dr. Ashok Kumar Malik (Director-Sarvodaya group of Hospital\, Ghaziabad)\, Guests of Honour\, Eminent cardiologist\, Dr. Parag Sharma (Director – Aarogya Medical and Diagnostic Centre\, Hapur) and Dr. Neeraj Garg (CMO – Sarvodaya Hospital\, Ghaziabad)\, Director Prof. (Dr.) Babita Kumar\, HOD-Pharmacy\, Dr. Shabnam Ain\, Dr. Anuradha Singh\, Dr. Qurratul Ain\, Dr. Ajeet and Administrative officer\, Mr. Ashish Mittal.\nChief Guest\, Dr. Ashok Kumar Malik blessed the gathering with his words of wisdom. He advised the budding Pharmacists to emphasize on practical knowledge also with theoretical concepts of medicines. He shared that Pharmacists are integral part of healthcare team whose substantial contribution in healthcare delivery of society is very well recognized. The pharmacists provide quality medicines to patients and also do their counseling for taking medicines at right time in right dose. They work silently in improving Global Health outcomes.\nDr. Neeraj Garg emphasized on Fatty Liver Disease and its relation with life style\, food and nutrition. Nutrition is a critical part of health of a liver. He also explained: How does poor nutrition affects on health? Consuming unhealthy food and beverages such as sugar-sweetened beverages\, high calorie diet and highly processed food can lead to weight gain\, obesity and other chronic conditions that put people at higher risk of fatty liver\, liver cirrhosis and liver cancer. Dr. Neeraj emphasized on improving eating pattern and healthy lifestyle. People with healthy eating patterns live longer and are at lower risk for serious health problems such as Liver Disease\, heart disease\, type II diabetes and obesity. The lecture was very well received by the D. Pharm. B.Pharm and M.Pharm students. The information and practical insight in their deliberation will be useful for the students throughout their career.\nStudents had actively participated in the events with great zeal and enthusiasm during the celebration of National Pharmacy Week. Third Position was shared by two students\, Misbah (B.Pharm I yr) & Muskan (D.Pharm II yr). On this occasion winners of all the events were awarded with prize and certificates by our Honorable Chief Guest Dr. Ashok Kumar Malik\, Director-Sarvodaya Group of Hospitals\, Dr. Neeraj Garg\, CMO-Sarvodaya Hospital\, Ghaziabad and Dr. Babita Kumar. On this occasion\, Chairperson\, Shrimati Manisha Gupta Ji\, Treasurer- SEG Mr. Kush Aggarwal and Secretary Mr. Lav Aggarwal congratulated all winner students and conveyed their good wishes to all buddy pharmacists for their bright future. They motivated all the faculty members who motivated the students to participate in different events and appreciated all the winners & participants for their extraordinary performance.

SUMMARY:Visit at Primary Healthcare Centre & Community Health Centre\, Dasna
DESCRIPTION:Sanskar College of Pharmacy & Research\, Ghaziabad organized a visit for our Diploma pharmacy students as part of the PCI Curriculum at Primary Healthcare Centre & Community Health Centre\, Dasna\, District-Ghaziabad on 25th November 2024. Primary Health Centers are the cornerstone of rural health services- the first port of call to a qualified doctor of the public sector in rural areas for the sick and those who directly report or are referred from Sub-centers for curative\, preventive\, and promotive health care. Mr. Arjun Nagar coordinated the visit from the department. Students learned about the problems underprivileged people face and the nutritional deficiency they normally encounter due to the lack of resources. They met patients and doctors enquiring about their conditions and the medical support required in difficult cases. Dr. Sana and Mr. Abhishek were accommodating and gave time and patience to demonstrate the different cases. Through this\, they gained a deeper understanding of the significance of vaccinations in infants and the role of community healthcare workers in improving the standard of living and the standard of living.

SUMMARY:Celebrated Indian Constitution Day
DESCRIPTION:Sanskar College of Pharmacy and Research\, Sanskar Educational Group celebrated Indian Constitution Day also known as Samvidhan Divas on 26 November 2024 with great enthusiasm. A series of events such as Essay writing competition\, Speech Competition\, Painting competition and Oral presentation were organized to commemorate this significant occasion and to spread awareness about the importance of the constitution in shaping the nation’s democratic framework. An oral presentation session was organized focusing on historical aspects and the making of the Indian Constitution. Students showcased their presentations using slides. The colorful and meaningful paintings added a visual charm to the celebrations and were displayed for everyone to admire. The speeches were marked by confidence\, clarity and a strong sense of patriotism. These events not only enrich a sense of pride and respect for the constitution but also encouraged students to actively engage in understanding the pillars of Indian democracy.After a thorough evaluation of all the participants\, the winners were announced as Sadaf (B.Pharm 1st year) in Speech competition\, Lakshay Bhatnagar (B.Pharm 1st year) in oral presentation\, Harsh Tyagi (B.Pharm 4th year) in Essay writing competition and Nitin Sharma (B.Pharm 4thyear) in Painting competition respectively. The event was successfully coordinated by faculty members Ms. Nutan\, Ms. Bhawna\, Ms. Zulekha\, Ms.Pooja Malkani\, Mr.Ankur Yadav and Mr. Lucky Maurya. Winners of all the events were congratulated and appreciated by Director – Prof. (Dr.) Babita Kumar\, HOD- Dr. Shabnam Ain for their exuberant participation.

Students explored risk factors such as a family history of the disease\, smoking\, poor diet\, and infections like H. pylori. They also learned about the significance of healthy lifestyle choices in reducing the risk\, including eating a balanced diet\, avoiding tobacco\, and seeking medical advice for persistent digestive issues. Additionally\, students became aware of the advancements in treatment options and the role of screening in improving survival rates. Through this awareness campaign\, students are now better equipped to advocate for regular check-ups and support efforts to raise awareness about this often-overlooked condition.\n\n\nThe Event was well-coordinated by coordinators Ms. Nutan Singh &Mr. Lucky Maurya under the guidance of respected Dr. Anuradha HOD D.Pharm\, Dr. Shabnam Ain HOD B.Pharm& Dr. Babita Kumar Director Pharmacy
