DESCRIPTION:The 61st National Pharmacy Week (NPW) will be celebrated from 20 to 26 November\, 2020. The theme selected for this year is: “Pharmacy of the World – India”. \n\n\nSanskar College of Pharmacy and Research\, Ghaziabad is celebrating 61st National Pharmacy Week from November 23 to November 26 2022. Through this celebration awareness is created among the public\, other healthcare providers and the authorities\, about the invaluable contributions that the pharmacists make to the healthcare system. It was inaugurated today with lamp lightening ceremony followed by an invaluable guest lecture on Innovation and Academia: Creating Culture of Technology Transfer and Start-up. It was delivered by Dr. Geeta Aggarwal\, Dean Academics and Professor of Pharmaceutics in Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research University\, New Delhi. The students were greatly benefited by her knowledgeable lecture and the session was very interactive. Various activities like Pharma quiz\, poster presentation oral presentation\, debate and extempore competition will also be organized on 24-26 November 2022.

SUMMARY:Guest Lecture by Dr. Amit Kumar
DESCRIPTION:Eminent speaker\, Dr. Amit Kumar\, Pharmacopoeial Scientist in Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission\, Ghaziabad\, delivered a guest lecture on Phytopharmaceutical Drugs and its Monograph in Indian Pharmacopoeia as an activity of PEPSC (Pharmacopoeial Education and Patient Safety cell) on 25th November 2022 during National Pharmacy week 2022 celebration at Sanskar College of Pharmacy\, Ghaziabad. He shared that Phytopharmaceutical ingredient (PPI) monographs has been introduced in IP 2022 for the first time in Indian Pharmacopoeia. It may or may not strictly meet the requirements of definition of phytopharmaceutical drugs which are essentially herbal medicine extracted from plants. These are mixture of different compounds but have a biological origin from a plant. He said inclusion criteria of phytopharmaceutical drug monographs in IP differ from herbal drug monographs. To include a PPI monograph in Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP)\, an herbal drug fraction needs to be characterized minimum of its four bio/analytical marker compounds. Out of four markers\, one analytical marker should have biological / therapeutic value. As a standard setting authority\, the IPC ensures four analytical markers should be present in a phytopharmaceutical ingredient which is used for development for a botanical drug. The lecture was very well received by the B.Pharm and M.Pharm students. The information and practical insight in his deliberation will be useful for the students throughout their career.

SUMMARY:61st National Pharmacy Week
DESCRIPTION:61st National Pharmacy Week was celebrated by Sanskar College of Pharmacy and Research from 23 November to 26 November 2022 to create the awareness among the students\, public and the authorities about the invaluable contributions of the pharmacists to the healthcare system. The Programme was inaugurated with lamp lightening ceremony followed by guest lecture on Innovation and Academia: Creating Culture of Technology Transfer and Start-up by Dr Geeta Aggarwal\, Dean & Professor\, DPSRU\, New Delhi on 23.11.2022. Various events viz. Pharma quiz\, \, Poster Competition\, Oral Presentation and Extempore competitions were also organized on 24th and 25th November 2022. All the students of D.Pharm\, B.Pharm and M.Pharm had actively participated in the celebration with great zeal and enthusiasm. The names of Winners for the events are: Anam & Abhishek Tyagi from B.Pharm III year for Debate Competition\, Saumya Sarika- B.Pharm III year and Mohd. Zaid – D.Pharm I year for Oral Presentation\, Akash- B.Pharm I year for Extempore Competition\, Abhishek Tyagi- B.Pharm-IV year and Mahendra Singh-D.Pharm I year for Poster Competition. For Pharma Quiz Mahendra Singh and Anjani\, D.Pharm I year and for Logo & tagline competition Insha Saifi- D.Pharm I year were the winners. A Guest lecture was also organized on Phytopharmaceutical Drugs and its Monograph in Indian Pharmacopoeia to create awareness among the students about inclusion of PPI monograph in IP 2022. It was delivered by Dr. Amit Kumar\, Pharmacopoeial Scientist from IPC on 25.11.2022. B.Pharm students had actively participated in blood check-up camp at Kamla Aggarwal Public School\, Hapur on 26.11.2022 for testing like blood pressure\, blood sugar\, hemoglobin\, blood group of approx 200 school students and staff members. During the valedictory function on 26.11.2022\, the winners of various events were awarded with Prizes and Certificates by Director\, Prof. (Dr.) Babita Kumar\, HOD\, Dr. Shabnam Ain\, Dr Anuradha Singh and event co-ordinators. At the conclusion of the program Director\, Prof. (Dr.) Babita Kumar congratulated to all the winners\, participants and event coordinators for making the celebration a huge success.

SUMMARY:Visit Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission
DESCRIPTION:B.Pharm III year students from Sanskar College of Pharmacy and Research\, Ghaziabad recently Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission\, Ghaziabad from 16th-18th November\, 2022. Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) is an autonomous institution of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare which sets standards for all drugs that are manufactured\, sold and consumed in India. The set of standards are published under the title Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP). The visit provided an excellent opportunity to students to interact with scientists and visited well equipped laboratories. Students got exposure to current work practices on various equipment like High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)\, Ultra-violet Spectroscopy (UV)\, Gas Chromatography (GC) and many more as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at the college. Students also learnt about Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) and Materilovigilance Programme of India (MvPI). This visit was very well co-ordinated by Mrs. Ritu Chauhan\, Dr. Smriti Sahu\, Mrs. Swati Mittal\, Mrs. Neha Yadav\, Mrs Alka and Mrs. Monika Dhakha.

DESCRIPTION:Today\, Sanskar College of Pharmacy and Research celebrated the World Pharmacists’ Day 2022 in the college campus. Pharmacist Day is celebrated all over the world to acknowledge and reward the substantial contribution of Pharmacist in healthcare delivery of society. Each year welcomes a new theme to develop the showcase the pharmacist in their positive effect on health. The theme of this year’s world pharmacist day is PHARMACISTS UNITED IN ACTION FOR A HEALTHIER WORLD. This is very appropriate which show how pharmacists working in different sectors of Pharmacy contribute to healthcare system globally. The event started with traditional auspicious lamp-lightening ceremony as a tribute to MAA Saraswati. This was followed by Oath taking ceremony by budding Pharmacist\, Dignitaries & Faculty members. Beautiful song performances by B.Pharm students gave a divine start to the World Pharmacists Day celebration. The Chief Guest for the program was Dr. Sunil Kumar Tyagi\, CMO-Hapur who gave an inspirational speech where he emphasized the role of pharmacists and the contributions made by them to the health care system. On the eve of pharmacist day\, different competitions (Poster\, Pharma Quiz\, Oral Presentation\, Debate\, collage making\, Rangoli and Singing competitions) were organized to bring out the innate talent of the students. The students had actively participated in the celebration with great zeal and enthusiasm. Winners of different activities like Pharma-Quiz competition was Himani Singhal and team\, Winner of debate competition were Devashish Pal and Abhishek Tyagi. In oral\, poster\, T-shirt painting and collage competition winner was Abhishek Tyagi. Himanshu and team was the winner of Rangoli competition and winner of singing competition was Aditi Goel. They were awarded by the Chief Guest- Dr. Sunil Kumar Tyagi (CMO)\, Director Engineering- Prof. (Dr.) Dharmendra Singh\, Director Pharmacy- Prof. (Dr.) Babita Kumar\, and event co-ordinators. The programme was attended by administrative officer- Mr. Ashish Mittal and all faculty members including Dr Anuradha Singh\, Dr Qurratul Ain\, Mrs. Ritu Chauhan\, Mrs. Smriti Sahu and Dr Ajeet. The event was ended by vote of thanks by Dr. Shabnam Ain\, HOD-Pharmacy.

SUMMARY:Industrial Visit to ”NAMASTE INDIA”
DESCRIPTION:SGIT School of Management organised an Industrial Visit to ”NAMASTE INDIA”\, Modinagar\, Ghaziabad. Around 40 students were accompanied by two faculty members- Mr.Aditya Sharma & Mrs. Swati Chandela. The visit began with the presentation. The HR Manager gave a knowledgeable presentation about how Namaste India was established as a Cooperative unit collecting milk from farmers in rural areas and marketing in urban areas. Students actively walked through the plant with Mr. V.P Singh (Assistant general manager) who explained the whole process of manufacturing and packaging of milk and other milk products. Students were taken through the production facilities including the procurement\, inventory management\, quality check of milk samples in the quality control department\, pasteurization process and the packaging and storage until the product was sent out of delivery. The silent feature of the plant was the wastewater management initiative in which water used in the production process is filtered and let out in open areas for Plants.\nMr. Manoj Kumar Singh (HOD) organised and conducted the visit in a very smooth manner and the visit was a great experience for the students

SUMMARY:Industrial visit to Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission
DESCRIPTION:Sanskar College of Pharmacy and Research\, Ghaziabad has organized industrial visit for B.Pharm III year students to Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission\, Ghaziabad on 16th to 18th December 2022. Drugs manufactured in India have to be labelled with the mandatory non-proprietary drug name with the suffix I.P. The visit provides an excellent opportunity to students to interact with industrial environment. It gives them exposure to current work practices on various equipments like High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)\, Ultra-violet Spectroscopy (UV)\, Gas Chromatography (GC) and many more as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at the college. Students also learnt about Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) and Materilovigilance Programme of India (MvPI).
