Sanskar College of Pharmacy and Research celebrated World Pharmacists’ Day on 25th September 2024 to create awareness about the substantial contribution of pharmacists in healthcare system. On this special day, we honor the vital role of pharmacists in meeting global health needs. Each year welcomes a new theme to develop the showcase the pharmacist in their positive effect on health. The theme of this year’s world pharmacist day “PHARMACISTS: MEETING GLOBAL HEALTH NEEDS” is very appropriate which show how pharmacists working in different domains of Pharmacy contribute significantly for the betterment of healthcare system globally.

The event started with traditional auspicious lamp-lightening ceremony as a tribute to MAA Saraswati. Director – Pharmacy, Prof. (Dr.) Babita Kumar welcomed renowned and dynamic Chief Guest, Dr. Sunil Kumar Tyagi, Chief Medical Officer, Hapur and facilitated the administration of Oath by budding Pharmacist, Dignitaries & Faculty members. Beautiful song performances by B.Pharm students gave a divine start to the World Pharmacists Day celebration.

Chief Guest, Dr. Sunil Kumar Tyagi gave an inspirational speech on the role of pharmacists and their great contributions to the health care system. He emphasized that the Pharmacists are the backbone of healthcare system who ensures that medicines are safe, effective, and accessible to everyone. Their knowledge, dedication, and care go beyond the counter, making a difference in the lives of millions around the world. The pharmacists work in Community Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy and Hospital Pharmacy for patient counseling services and also participate in preventing drug abuse.

On the eve of pharmacist day Pharma Quiz and Debate competitions were organized to bring out the innate talent of the students. The students had actively participated in the celebration with great zeal and enthusiasm. In Debate Competition first, second and third position was hold by Tushar Tomer (B.Pharm 4th year) Devashish Pal (B.Pharm 3rd year) and Abhisha John (B.Pharm 2nd year): Far the motion and Lakshay Bhatnagar (B.Pharm 1st year) Rohit Pal (B.Pharm 2nd year) and Sameer (B.Pharm 2nd year): Against the motion. In Pharma Quiz, Team MERCK MASTERS (Badal, Riya, Cutee, Manvi & Shivam) won the first prize, Team NOVARTIS NINJAS (Divya, Yash, Himani, Anchal & Yash) won the second prize and third position was hold by Team PFIZER PIONEER (Rohit, Misba, Puneet, Kartikay & Utsav). Winners of different activities were awarded by the Chief Guests- Dr. Sunil Kumar Tyagi (CMO-Hapur), Director- Prof. (Dr.) Babita Kumar, HODs Dr. Shabnam Ain, Dr. Anuradha Singh and event co-ordinators. At the conclusion of the program Director, Prof. (Dr.) Babita Kumar congratulated to all the winners, participants and event coordinators for making the celebration a huge success.
